The Dismemberment Plan were a great band. I say were as they've split up now. Another one gone. They've got a remix CD out. It has remixes by no-one I've ever heard of apart from Cex. It sounds very interesting. Its not your usual remix thing. Its not a promotional device. Some of the people who have done remixes were just fans of the band. The tracks were posted on the bands website and people did mixes. Completely inspirational. Buy. People's History is CD only
In this, their swansong release, their Coda,
the lads from Springfield have uploaded basic tracks and vocals from many of their previous releases, and encouraged any and all comers to download and remix at will. This record takes the band's favorites of these deconstructed-then-reconstructed songs and puts together what for many will become their favorite "Plan" record - one on which the band turned over all the artistic keys to others. It is nothing short of amazing.
