The record I've been looking forward to hearing, probably more than any other this year, is the new Blonde Redhead album. They're one of my favourite bands as they have the most unique sound and a proper good ear for a tune. Fortunately I haven't been disappointed by this! It's more mellow than previous outings but then after the fantastic Elephant Woman single I had a feeling it would be. In it's essence it's just great independent rock but it's so much more. Inventive, soulful, gentle, powerful, evocative and lots lots more. It's still produced by Guy Picciotto so it retains that original sound they have. Utterly marvellous.
