Dear Squarepusher, when oh when will you make a good album start to finish? My finger is numb from excessive use of the skip button. This new LP called 'Ultravisitor' is according to the press blurb' Squarepusher at his most accessible'. Whaaaaaaaat? Half the tracks are insane unlistenable jazz noodles. But but but but but there are also some amazing tracks here notably the title track which sounds like something off 'Feed Me Weird Things' and the utterly majestic heart-wrenching beauty of 'Iambic 9 Poetry' that uses live drums and rhodes piano to spine tingling effect. So in summary -a mixed bag. Fans will be delighted to learn that the initial copies come with a FREE BONUS 3" CD containing 5 unreleased tracks. This applies to both the CD and vinyl.
