Bikini Atoll are that strangest of bands. From Texas, on Bella Union & poised to be at least moderately huge. But they sound like all my favourite bands when I was a kid rolled into a kind of post-rock calzone. Blasts of James, Echo & The Bunnymen & U2, entwined with the more contemporary Explosions ITS/Mogwai axis not to mention shades of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds! A really quality stew of sinister & euphoric BIG sounding indie rock. With this & The Stills on the horizon, looks like we're gonna have an early Eighties overcoat revival (that's OVERCOAT, Clint, NOT Duffel coat!!) CD only.Be the first to review this record.
