Early Day Miners frustrate the hell out of me. They've done some quite beautiful music in the past full of intertwining guitars and mumbled vocals but their last few releases have have been hit and miss. The same is true of this new 6 track EP on Acuarela. The first couple of tracks are fairly ropey but later on in the EP there's some great moments particularly when there's less vocals. Its not as if the guy's got a bad voice its just that their compositions are much more impressive with little or no vocals. If I had to compare them to anyone it would be Aerial or (early) Papa M.
