The first one is a CD by Cass Mccombs. This is the UK issue of the magnificent 'Not TheWay' CD EP we raved on about earlier this year (or was it last year?). Its now on 4AD so hopefully this will raise Mr McCombs popularity somewhat. There's 6 tracks all good but the first on, the title track is just magnificent. Its just lovely heartfelt guitar pop with nods towards Neil Young and a stress-free Daniel Johnston.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
