Hymie's Basement by Hymie's Basement

Second favourtite album of the week is by Hymie's Basement. This is Andrew Broder (Fog) and Jonathan Wolf (aka Why?). This excellent record usurps any of their previous work. Its amazing. The first songs starts off sounding a bit like The Strokes funnily enough but then wanders into territories those guys could only dream of going. Its insanely catchy mesmeric pop of the highest quality.  The rest of the album wanders an eccentric path. Mainly the vibe is of crazed off kilter lo-fi yet tuneful pop. A bit of Hood says Fats, also the solo work of Why? springs to mind and anyone who walks an unlikely path. On Lex and highly recommended.
