Unfortunately this rampant mentalism renders the new Venetian Snares LP a bit lightweight (for him anyhooo!!) What this skinny, hirsute Canadian sound mangler is doing sampling the theme to Corrie I'll never know. But it works. Oh yes it really does. 10 tracks of stuttering, breakneck genius coming across like a warped Squarepusher in places A more twisted Bogdan R in others and with a title like 'The Chocolate Wheelchair' to contend with (& fabulous sleeve artwork courtesy of label-mate Leafcutter John) he's really pressing all the right buttons. If you've heard the new single you'll know it's his best to date & this proves itself as a most worthy successor to 'Ultra Higgins...' Planet Moooo host the insanity once more.
