Capitol K returns from the XL doledrums with a new 12" on Faith and Industry. First of all it looks great. Its in a cloth sleeve and its numbered and highly limited. Unfortunately Its all ruined when you put the needle on the record. The A side is just terrible - a stodgy go nowhere ode to - where else? New York City. Ha! I mean does it need anyone else to sing about New York, does it really? Why doesn't anyone sing about...Oh I don't know York or Northallerton? Anyway the B side is a vast improvement featuring some very neat violin, guitar and electronics but you get the feeling that someone who has been capable of the euphoric pop rush of 'Pillow' really must try harder.Be the first to review this record.
