Rating: ecstatic This record left our Phil feeling ecstatic.

Well we just got the new Radiohead album in. Been waiting a long time to hear this and have avoided the evil downloady websites which people have been telling me about in favour of waiting for it to be released. There's always far too many records to listen to. Lovingly packaged in a gatefold double album sleeve, or the limited CD comes in an elongated paper cover (almost like a road map) which folds out and looks utterly gorgeous. Musically it's a progression on from Amnesiac. Bits of electronics (mainly beats) mixed in with more guitarry tracks. One of the tracks reminded me of Mogwai in places. No one else does the depressing music thing as wqell as them and a lot of this isn't really that depressing. If ever a band had a good idea for a tune it's Radiohead and on 1st listen this sounds marvellous. I can't wait to go home and play it all weekend...... Hail To The Thief sounds tops already!
