Party Of One I assumed was just one feller doing lo-fi solo stuff but there's three of 'em by the looks of things! The debut LP/CD by them,'Caught By The Blast' on Fat Cat, is superb. A real gem which the single, 'Shotgun Funeral', only hinted at. Fuzzy & slightly lo-fi in the way that all the songs are so well formed (Ala The Strokes) that you don't even notice the crackly broom cupboard production. 12 ace tunes with hints of early Dinosaur/Sebadoh & a bit of Pavement/Sonic Youth but with a distinctive sound all of their own! Bands like this are totally re-affirming my faith in indie rock & It's a joy to give this album of the week! Ah! Where's McClusky? I need summat to slag off before me supper!Be the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
