What the label says:

Straight outta Brooklyn, NYC, The Essex Green are here with a new platter on 19th May, their first official UK release. The band count the Strokes amongst their fanbase but the Essex Green steer a very different path to their city friends. 'The Long Goodbye' is an album bound and ready to lead its people from the Land of Nod, out of winter slumber into the spring of pop heaven. This time the band veer left toward the intersection of male/female led pop melodies and the billowy wave of rock and roll. The end result is a sound that only these three longtime friends could create, unique in its sincere character and sweeping tenor. With 'The Long Goodbye', the Essex Green traipse the hallowed halls of folk tradition, new wave and classic rock.

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.

'I wonder if it's worth getting a skip?'
