This new Early Day Miners CD on Secretly Canadian is a big disappointment to me. The first song is fantastic. So good in fact that I woke up this morning with it swimming around my head. Wonderful stuff - crunchy guitars, nice vocals, usefully employed tambourine. After that its a bit of a slippery slope downhill. I dunno it all seems a bit half finished. Theres a lot of albums around like this. I have a theory that its due to the decline of the 7". People don't put out singles anymore due to the huge (relative) costs involved so they just throw a load of substandard songs on there and call it an album. Does anyone think I'm onto something? I mean its not bad this, its just not.....inspired. Jefferson At Rest is on CD and LPBe the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
