Buck 65's album is here at last. Square is on Warners (boo!) and is slightly smoother than his brilliantly eccentric work on Anticon but is still quite marvellous. He has one of those granite voices like Tom Waits or Captain Beefheart after a healthy dose of cough medicine. The music sometimes sounds a bit like Arab Strap, low key and laid back with acoustic guitars and strings and sometimes veers nearer jazzy hip hop territory without being too conventional.
