The other 'biggie' this week and a record to get really excited about is the new one from Cat Power. I'd been worried that since the gorgeous Moonpix she had lost the plot a bit but my fears were unfounded. This is a really excellent record. Chan Marshall's voice is a thing of unbelievably beauty and here she has the songs to do it justice. Its less folky and laid back than Moonpix its kind of edgy at times but wonderfully recorded with excellent instrumentation and that amazing voice. A classic record and an early contender for album of the year. You Are Free is on CD and LPBe the first to review this record. Best reviewer each month gets £10 off their next order!
