Now to scots indie stalwarts The Delgados, back with a new lp and cd called 'Hate' on Mantra, rather than their own label....This is all very pleasant and nicely arranged but leaves me a little whelmed (neither under nor over...) and sends me to sleep. All the spiky edges are gone, replaced by pretty strings and that trademark fat Dave Fridmann sound. Like the last one, 'the Great Eastern' it's got plenty of good songs on, but nowt to change your life. Adequate at best.Be the first to review this record.
