Fresh in from San Diego is a new mini album from mad seminal Irish popsters Tristeza. It's their 8th album so far and it's a cracker. This reminded me a lot of Can (a seminal bunch of crazy German hippies) who when taking times off from operating their bus company they made really great repetitive music which was a bit bonkers. This has that repetitive edge whilst being quite post rocky as well. All instrumental with a brass section too. Apparently the band are so well off now their brass section is now made of 31 carat gold and there's no brass in sight! Those crazy popsters...... This self titled album is booming.

About the humble CD single:

Another digital format and even though they can hold 80 minutes of information (like a CD album would) record companies only fill up a small portion of the disc. Sometimes only 1 or 2 tracks on there totalling 5 minutes or so. It's like going to a restaurant and getting a plate of food with 2 green beans on and wondering where the rest of your meal is. Sometimes they're lovingly packaged though and when the music is good then you're into a winner. Also you get videos on there sometimes which you can watch on your computer. That is excellent.
