One of my faves of the week is the Prefuse 73 CD on Warp (the LP isn't released yet but it should be in soon?). This is scratchy earthy sounding hip hop beats with an electronic Tortoisey feel to it in places. Absolutely lovely and if you liked any of Scott Heron's other stuff then you'll love this. Absolutely essential and a ground breaking crossover LP which reminded me slightly of Entroducing by DJ Shadow (though not in sound at all) which brought hip hop to the masses in an easy to digest way. This isn't too far removed from that but it will take a few listens before your brain starts to understand what is happening. Vocal Studies And Uprock Narrative gets top marks!!!1. Radio Attack
