Marrying the kind of Adele/Dido thing to a kind of early ‘90s Massive Attack-like vibe these lot have a smoooooooooooth sound going on which explodes into life half way through with some ‘Unfinished Sympathy’ type strings over which someone yodels. The vocals recall Sade.
The flip side does the modern day chanteuse vocal, holler, has ‘The Edge’ like guitar twitches and implausibly is kind of M People meets Radiohead. The A side is strong and I can see this proving popular, it’s smooth and non-threatening enough for Radio 2 to play it in a moment of daring. Definitely one for the mums.
