Synth legend JD Emmanuel returns with his first new material in 30 years, ‘Time Traveler’ is full of polyrhythmic swirls and trance like head trips into the beyond, made entirely from vintage synths like Prophets and Mono Evolver keyboards that breathe extra-terrestrial sounds directly into your head! There’s not a lot of variation in tracks but that doesn’t matter, the music takes you on a fulfilling journey that’s probably best enjoyed on headphones so that the sonic lushness gets straight into your ears!

Having to put up with only reissues of his past work like ‘Wizards’ and ‘Trance Formations’, it will be refreshing for fans to hear new material in such a long time, with contemporaries such as Tangerine Dream and Vangelis trying to move with the times it’s great to see someone like Emmanuel sticking to traditions and what he does best, sonic experimentation when it’s this good can be a seriously enjoyable experience!
