Fold are a Leeds based downtempo bunch of lads factfans. I’m just listening to their debut 7” ‘Mr President’ right now and it’s light and breezey fun. Hip-hop lite beats (played on drums by the sounds of it) with some mellow keyboard noises and loads of Jimmy Carter samples. It’s very much like Lemon Jelly and it’s also very likeable. The keyboard melodies carry it for me as they’re most lovely on the ear. Nice stripped back tune! I can’t get near the stereo to listen to the B side (i’m listening to this online) so I’ve no idea what it’s like!
