Big Wave - Only You (7" vinyl)

Torquay 5 piece Big Wave return in November with their debut single and Vinyl release through Beautiful Strange. ‘’Only You’’ is released on November 5th and is accompanied by B side ‘’Living Room’’.

 

This release follows on from the June cassette release of the ‘’The Roots of Love (Come Tumbling Down)’’ EP and more recently the inclusion of Free Download ‘’Dying On The Vine’’ on the Art Is Hard’s Pizza Box Club. Big Wave’s busy Summer also marked their debut Festival appearance at End of the Road.

 

Big Wave’s new track is packed with hooks from start to finish. Their brand of upbeat, jangly, female-fronted guitar pop combines dizzy guitar riffs, punchy drums and charming vocal melodies. A rich mix of influences from Soul and Motown to the yearning heartbreak of Country music culminates in a 3 minute power-pop nugget recalling such artists as Pulp and Blondie. Big Wave’s coastal origins shine through and reviewers have regularly commented on the likeness of the band’s sunshine pop to their hometown of Torquay.

This release sees Big Wave team up with London based record and tapes label Beautiful Strange for a run of 500 limited edition Vinyl’s.  ‘’Only You’’ and B side ‘’Living Room’’ are due for release November 5th
