First coming to attention via appearances with Bonnie Prince Billy, Olsen’s voice is initially disconcerting but by only the second track in I’ve decided that it’s something quite unique and special. The nearest comparison is to Diane Cluck, she has the same wandering, almost scatting style but her compositions are more upbeat than the melancholy Cluck, featuring a lo-fidelity band clanking away with the voice waaaay up front where it needs to be.
