Given its pastel pink cover I wasn’t expecting to hear what I did when I put the needle down on the groove and this all-girl Geordie quartet fire straight into a blast of ‘orrible free noise skronk as they holler the track title over the top that’s making me think of Divorce or Burmese or Italian noise lasses Agatha, before settling down into a nice little chunk of lo-fi indie pop which is reminding me of Golden Grrrls, Shrag and Urusei Yatsura - great homemade feel to the production, gang-up vocals and some sweet moments where the instruments drop down and let the vocals take the fore.
On the flip there’s ‘Arosa’ which is still quite lo-fi but poppier than the A side, with lots of smooth harmonies and sweet melodies coming across to me like a cross between the Breeders and Evans The Death, maybe. Short and sweet and much less awkward than the more difficult lead track. Both good songs.
