Mark Fell - Sentielle Objectif Actualite (Double vinyl LP, CD)

It seems like I’ve been waiting forever for this one to drop and now it’s finally here it’s everything I was hoping for and then some. The score here is that Mark has remixed / re-worked seven tracks from his Sensate Focus “Neat house” project and the results are super pleasing to the ear. They operate on a cerebral level with dancefloor functionality.

Mark’s crisp, pristine production is one of his trademarks and it really shines on these tracks. I guess stylistically this lies somewhere between Mark’s solo productions under his own name and the Sensate Focus material but I’m probably stating the obvious there. The almost unfathomable generative rhythms are pretty toned down although there are some damn fine off kilter beats such as can be heard on the third track. Basically if you’re interested in forward thinking house / techno music then you really ought to be checking this out.
