When the sales notes for this 12” came through I almost had to scrape myself off the floor. It’s like a techno / noise fiend’s wet dream! Regis kicks things off with his remix of ‘Chua Rave’. It has a quite early period Regis feel to it with a ridgid 4/4 monotone structure built for the dancefloor but what makes this stand out from those older productions is his use of Russell’s wriggling squelchy elastic sounds that weave themselves around the drums in a quirky but very appealing manner.
Next up is William Bennett tackling ‘Harshing’ which sounds like the Monaco Grand Prix exploding. A violent harsh shitstorm of manic pulses and ferociously dynamic sound that will easily satisfy followers of Haswell, Whitehouse and even Hecker.
Kevin Drumm also takes care of ‘Harshing’ with his mix comprising the entire B-side and it’s a beauty that traverses gentle moments of calm and ridiculous levels of excess. Top notch 12” alert!
