No truer words could be said to describe the newest outing from the much revered Tobias Hellkvist. Unfortunately I’m working and don’t really have the time to absorb the whole outing before writing about it. What I can tell you is that ‘Everything Is Connected’ is a beautiful ambient piece that connects seven immersive drone collages into one deep, blissful and seemingly unending whole. Primarily constructed using effected guitars plus usual modern laptop processing that is prevalent these days, ‘Everything Is Connected’ sounds totally familiar yet utterly satisfying. It never feels static or lost for ideas and keeps those choral ambient flavours evolving nicely over the 45-minute duration. Crescendos build and dissolve in masterful fashion and Hellkvist even treats us to a little beat on ‘Rat Christmas’, bringing a whole new dimension to the tail end of the record.
