* After delivering one of 2011’s most lauded albums with critic and fan favorite “Looping State Of Mind”, Axel Willner marks the return of THE FIELD with a high-caliber remix collection featuring Junior Boys, Blondes and Mohn. Taking the music in distinct directions, every remixer adds his own flavor to the recipe while keeping the feel of the curveball-packed originals very much alive.

* JUNIOR BOYS convert the album’s epic title track into a finely detailed pusher sporting rippling synths and a Kraftwerk-like bassline. Early computer music meets the Junior’s trademark 1980s slickness, and the result is an opulent goosebump fest with tightly programmed beats catering to those very special moments every floor is craving for.

* More sonic wanderlust comes with BLONDES’ take on “It’s Up There”, one of the most iconic tracks on “Looping State Of Mind”: in typical fashion, the NY band reimagines the original as a bold single-take rendition taking The Field’s sustained climax and formal transparency to new levels of handmade weirdness and hypnotic gloss. 

* One of the most surprising tracks on “Looping State Of Mind” surely was “Then It’s White” with its mournful vocals wrapped around a pensive piano. MOHN take the drama and shoot it into deep space, where the multi-layered textures of the source material dissolve into a Sci-Fi meditation over magnetic fields of soaring synths.
