In case you’ve not been paying any attention Hibernate have ended their sell out series of funsized postcards and replaced it with a collaborative series which come in similar postcardy sizey packs with cute 3” CDs inside. They’ve been peddling ambient drones for a good few years now and you know what you’re getting with Hibernate as it’s always a seal of quality.
This one sees the pairing of ambient drone stalwart and Norm fave Yellow6 with misery peddler Caught In The Wake Forever. Soudscapey ambient guitars and storm sounds kick in making a suitably atmospheric start to the EP with a nine minute opener. In fact there’s only two long tracks on this beast and they’re both atmospheric guitar led minimal cinematic pieces with various field recordings livening things up. It’s moving whilst being chocka full of post rock musings and is extremely listenable. As far as Hibernate releases go it’s a busy one with lots going on and there’s plenty here to be enjoyed for the ambient listener which is you in this instance. 150 copies for the world and we have a handful like!
