This is the “debut” “solo” release from one of the lads in Emeralds. Which one? This is the one called John Elliott. I have put solo in inverted commas because there are heaps of others involved here and what they have come up with is a delightful synth brew. It’s led by skittery, twittering synths burbling away whilst mellotrons and space age synth washes provide a deeply retro-futuristic texture to the proceedings.
It's deeply in thrall to the the ‘70s kraut kosmiche dreamings of Conrad Schnitzler and Tangerine Dream and we are legally obliged of course to mention John Carpenter. There is a bit more of a modern day feel to some of the harder-edged sounds, the B side however is one big long song. Starting off with clattery fizzing sounds it mutates into a warm, humming synths and then back again. Truly prog synth tastic.
