This is a lovely LP, full of hushed shimmering post-rocky mumblings aimed right for that part of your subconscious that lives between wake and sleep. Zelienople is a trio featuring Matt Christensen, who put out an excellent solo album recently, and this new album on Type has some quiet, super-minimal pop music which makes Low look like the Ramones and Dakota Suite look like John Williams. There’s so little there that I’m struggling to say much about it while there’s people chatting around me and tape guns going off and the like, but it’s certainly very lovely and deserves to be heard in darker rooms and in closer detail than I’m able to right now. Quiet, hushed, sad and lovely.
