This one here is a reissue of an EP originally co-released by Druid Hill Records and a certain little DC label called Dischord. It has a garagey rock sound with quite thin, trebly guitars and all the songs are pretty melodic. It’s going to appeal to fans of the likes of Feedtime, GOD, Pregnant, The Fuzztones and lo-fi shitkickers like that.
The guitar tone is really reminding me of the Psychedelic Furs, especially on ‘Mrs Rain’...I wonder if that’s deliberate. Also, I’m pretty sure the closing song contains the lyric: “I have a brain in my head, I have a brain in my ass”. Produced by Ian Mackaye in ‘85, so I guess it’s of some historical note too.
[Edit: I just found out that the "Daniel V. Strasser" in this band is the same person as the Dan Higgs in Lungfish, and that Asa Osborne later joined the band too. This doesn't sound anything like them but that certainly makes this record more interesting!!]
