Violens - Fragments #1 (10" vinyl)

Just over 12 years of existence, a 25 references catalog, numerous discoveries, great meetings, glorious failures, passion (a lot), friendship (even more), recognition and also some frustrations: this is the perfect summary of monopsone story.
And now?
Giving up is out of question, we will keep on defending our conception of music, of great records and independent label. And as the release of a new disc is, in itself, always a risk- for the survival of the label, then let's try to have fun!
The meeting with a talented photographer and graphic designer (the aptly named Stéphane
(the original series of split 10" EPs "substracks ") naturally led us to this project of a 6 EPs
devoted to a handful of bands that we particularly like.
All the photos illustrating the covers were taken in one place: an old pension from the center of France, abandoned for decades. Dilapidated rooms, faded tapestries, decaying objects were all subjects of inspiration for our graphic designer, looking for a little beauty hidden behind the dust and rubble. It's also our approach to music today: the dust to broom, the wastes to move in the ruins of the music industry to find the song, the music that will move us ... anyway, we have no choice, the passion is here...

Violens – Fragment#1

Web connection from Brooklyn to western France through the mountains of Auvergne.
Before they release a second album that should make them the new figureheads of Slumberland, VIOLENS enthusiastically decided to join Fragments, for five epic timeless songs. VIOLENS makes it sounding eminently in tune with the times while appropriating an entire history of pop music, flirting with The Smiths and The Pale Fountains in the 1st LP and adding Ride and Moose to their references today. The quartet led by Jorge ELBRECHT, in no way trying to deny that heritage, strives to sublimate it, mixing overwhelming melodies, crystal clear guitars and mischievous synthesizers.
