Various - Hare Akedod 002 (Cassette tape)

Really I’ve no idea wtf this thing is. It’s a cryptic looking compilation tape in oversized box, comprised of muffly psych-folk /lo-fi / vintage electronic weirdness and the only artists I’ve ever heard of are the charmingly monikered  Vom Grill and Hellvete. Yeah you know, chart toppers all the way here at Norman. I’m not gonna get on my jazzphone and try read anything up about it. Surely that will ruin the delights on offer if I spill all the mysteries? There’s this gorgeous slow pulsing/fluttering  synth tune about 3-4 numbers in, I’ve lost all sense of time and space, it sounds like a decaying Zomby demo with the most hesitant embryonic beats and is quite the thing I want with my lunchtime coffee. The tune after is superb too sounding along the lines of late 70s cold-war new age found in a bunker 50 years from now. Then there’s the sound of gurgling contact-mike on a sleeping dogs throat or something which leads to a truly mental tapestry of manipulated bodily excretions and warped liquid sound, kinda reminiscent of Mike Patton or Dylan Nyoukis having a post LSD collage-tastic giggle. The final track I’ll mention involves some proper acid-fried, bent and mashed  acoustic abuse and guttural drowsyness. Like Jack Rose after his last can of booze has been mercilessly spiked by Sun City Girls. Nothing if not interesting as hell, this diverse collection is designed for all you tape fiends with a thirst for the startling, weird and obscure…..
