On this seven here, Fiction have quite an '80s-sounding bit of synthpop with smooth vocal melodies and some percussive synthetic weirdness in the background that brings to mind Lloyd Cole singing for Was (Not Was) or something like that. Weird but still with a clear, bright pop heart. Flip it and there's some Johnny Marr-gone-Afrobeat guitars gently chording over a shuffling little groover with falsetto vocals and more of that smooth pop feel. Likeable three-minute pop songs with more than a little late '80s in them.
