On this EP, Californians English Singles show a great love for, well, English singles, specifically of the jangly power-pop variety. Think Teenage Fanclub, The La's and The Buzzcocks all thrown in a blender and then left out to dry in the sun. Then, when you can erase that vivid and disgusting image from your mind, have a listen to this perky little EP which combines elements of all those bands with exuberance and affection.
They sound like they're having a total fucking blast and being in a band is, like, their favourite thing. The tones are syrup-sweet, the tunes are catchy, the vocals are enthusiastic and this is so endearing that the fact they wear their influences on their sleeves really doesn't detract from it in the slightest. Four songs of tightly written and bouncily delivered jangle pop, just how you like it.
