Summer is on its way I think. I keep wishin' and a hopin' its true. If eventually the sun does shine then this lovely little record from The School will help keep the days bright. Its honest to goodness '60s influenced pop with heavy nods to Camera Obscura, Birdie, Belle & Sebastian and all manner of '60s girl groups. They have the '60s musical chops in place and know exactly where to put in a horn line but also write some neat songs, the northern soul-lite stomp of 'Where Does Your Heart Belong?' is particularly impressive. Whilst elsewhere we have songs dipped in sunshine with lyrical obsessions with boys, love, hearts being broken and more boys. What more could a girl or boy want?
