Long lost 80's band reforms with album of covers. So far, so yawnsome? Well, no not quite. This is a much better effort than you might expect as all the songs are by obscure lady fronted 60's bands so its a long way from a Duran Duran style atrocity. As you may expect its jam full of catchy fuzzy brevity. The highlight is 'Turn off the Moon (originally by 14 year old Sue Lyon') a magnificent blast of naive insanely catchy nursery rhyme pop. Jackie de Shannon's 'Til you Say You'll be Mine' is another brilliant song performed with just the right amount of pizazz. The more familiar Nico debut 'I'm Not Saying' is...erm ruined/vastly re-interpreted
depending on your viewpoint but it would take something to improve on that original. Its obviously a labour of love for the band, you get informative sleeve notes with pieces on the origins of each track and the whole thing is made and packaged with care.
