One morning a couple of months back we received an anonymous demo which blew our minds, a batch of the most amazingly lush music - psychedelic sound worlds of swirling vortexes and convoluting loops. Each day for a week or so the tracks kept coming - all brilliant avalanches of layered sound, pulsing, throbbing and churning held together by splintering rhythms underpinning the inviting cloud of sound. Who/what the fuck was this!? We waited... then, out of the blue, contact was made! They were from an unreleased artist from Wellington NZ - Tlaotlon.
Immediately we released 'Attitudes blankets to Nada' (on a split with Whirling Hall Of Knives), an introduction to the Tlaotlon world of layered textures, pulsations, fragmented chunks of noise all blurred and smeared into a gorgeous woozy dreamy expanse of post-detroit techno free noise bliss.
So, after 26 releases, we believe that this steps up to what we wanted the first Trensmat LP to be - "Squirt Image Flex" - eight unique takes on a sort of psych-techno sound akin to Lee Scratch Perry shaking an aural snowglobe of Polygon Window, John Carpenter, Derrick May & Goblin. Hark the samples below to wrap your head around the sonic supercollider!
The LP comes with additional extras for immediate download - digital copies of every track featured on the LP + two exclusive slabs of hypnotic pulse and drift totalling 16 minutes of additional content not on the vinyl, all in lossless audio format. Only the buyers of the vinyl will get the digital version of the LP & extras, it will not be available otherwise.
Pre-orders will be immediately sent a link to the download package.
