Fresh from her coverage on BBC Radio 2 breakfast, BBC 6 music and live sessions for Sir Terry Wogan (who describes Jasmine as "absolutely
fantastic") and Craig Charles' Funk and Soul Show, 21-year-old Jasmine Kara returns with the second single Ain't No More Room, taken from her debut album Blues Ain't Nothing But A Good Woman Gone Bad (Jazz FM's Album Of The Week). You can hear it in the opening bars of the number: it's the sound of a real singer taking on the blues and winning hands down. Jasmine's Ain't No More Room is a fantastic version of this northern classic (previously recorded by The Kittens); an up-beat song that's very of the moment but steeped in the past. It has been strongly championed by Wigan Casino legend Russ Winstanley on his BBC radio show. A soulful cover of Terry Callier's signature tune Ordinary Joe compliments as a b-side, another song yet again demonstrating a vocal sensitivity beyond her years.
