Errors - Pleasure Palaces

Errors return with a new LP and little in the way of press info to explain what they've been up to since the last release let only how they ended up sounding so much like Washed Out. Yep, looks like Errors - the post-rock band it's OK to like, have gone all dance-pop oriented. Weather it's a cynical move on their part is hard to say but 'Pleasure Palace', the first single from sophomore effort 'Have Some Faith In Magic', sounds great. They've basically co-op'd the elements that made Washed Out's 'Life Of Leisure' such essential listening and fused it with their already established sound. It's a great single and better than anything on 'Within And Without' but it's still an odd move in my opinion. Flip it and the glacial synths of 'Auberchute Flyer' suggest that A) the Washed Out thing isn't a one off and B) they write very convincing synth-pop and should stick with it.  'Auberchute Flyer' is a like a little synth-breeze tickling the inner ear with echo drenched arpeggio's. Beautiful stuff.
