Our Brian's a big fan of Biosphere apparently, but I'm not super familiar with this guy's somewhat intimidating body of work to be honest. On the first side of this 7” you've got a load of hiss and whistle before a swooshy noise that repeats and repeats over a bit of mid-end hiss and rumble. It's very relaxing and slightly industrial-sounding ambient tones. There's a looped run-out groove too, so if you don't want it to stop it doesn't have to. On the B side we actually have something that far more closely resembles music, with a neoclassical arrangement on what sounds like strings and oboe juxtaposed with an icy drone for a sinister soundtracky effect. I'm actually enjoying this piece much more than the A side. With its unsettling Morricone-meets-Moondog feel it'd make great entrance music for a band to come onstage to or something. It has an ominous feel like something's about to happen. Good 7”.

Two tracks originally recorded for Rogogaland Teater, Troms, Norway in 2006 and remastered in 2011.
