The Owl Service - All Things Being Silent

All Things Being Silent by The Owl Service

All Things Being Silent' is the third part in a series of four releases which sees Essex-based folk collective The Owl Service delving deep into the well of traditional British song (parts one and two being the sold out CD releases 'The Burn Comes Down' and 'The View From a Hill', both from 2010).

This 7” single contains two songs about death; A side 'The Red Barn' features vocals from Nancy Wallace, and a fuzz-fuelled backing track with strings courtesy of occasional collaborator Joolie Wood (Current 93), while B side 'The Standing Stones' is a more sombre affair, built around the layered flutes of Katie English (Isnaj Dui, Littlebow).

140g vinyl in heavy card sleeve with postcard insert, limited to 300 copies for the world.

Expect the usual radio support from Late Junction (BBC Radio 3), FreakZone (BBC6 Music) and Mike Harding (BBC Radio 2).

Tracklisting:

A – The Red Barn
B – The Standing Stones
