She's back! The queen of cutesy singer-songwriter pop has a brand new studio album and this one features Aesop Rock rapping as well as folks from The Strokes and The Mountain Goats. So there's guest stars all over the shop! As ever you get her insanely cute brand of campfire folk with stupid cutesy lyrics and cutesy kids singing in the background (on some of the tracks). She really needs to be employed by the good people at Sesame Street as it's what the program is missing (aside from a giant volcano that pours burning hot lava onto naughty children). It's pure and simple pop music which is from the heart and you can hear she sounds genuinely happy. It's nice to listen to a truly uplifting happy record for a change! Sorry about the price of the vinyl of this but it's insanely expensive these days! Still it's a double 180 gram gold vinyl job with a download so you're getting something for your money... By the way, the Aesop Rock collab is tremendous fun with big crushing beats behind Kimya and him rapping. Fun fun fun!!

Ex- Moldy Peaches singer/songwriter Kimya Dawson is most widely known for the Grammy nominated, Platinum selling soundtrack for the movie JUNO. Kimya's forthcoming solo album Thunder Thighs has major and minor themes including oceans, cancer, transgendered heroes, feeling safe in your own skin, saving public libraries and making big albums in a small, familial way. The album features guest performances by rapper/producer Aesop Rock plus members of the Strokes, Mountain Goats, and more. Thunder Thighs is being self-released on Kimya's own Great Crap Factory label.
