This Is Tunng... Live From The BBC by Tunng

4...according to our on Thu 01 Dec, 2011.

This newie from Tunng is already a firm favourite with me. It's an LP that spans their career, and features their numerous BBC radio sessions. They have recorded sessions for Lauren Laverne, Huw “Welsh” Stephens, Marc Reilly and others. It's what you would expect from Tunng. It's full of really good songs. It has really interesting electronica elements. It has quite a few songs that could make a grown man cry. It has big jumpered, beardy folk moments. I'd reckon it's the perfect package. It all sounds glorious too. The sound quality is proper amazing. You can really feel every shaker/plucked guitar/weird sample. It even has a gloriously stripped down version of Blue Pearl's “Naked In The Rain”, which is quite a classic in its own right. It's a fantastic record that finds Tunng in various incarnations...but the songwriting is always very, very good. It comes on heavyweight vinyl and is limited to 500 copies. I reckon fans of Tunng will be completely enamoured by this record...and I reckon it might even ensnare a few new fans too. An emotive collection of tracks that will delight and enchant...probably.
