Ooh it's all gone a bit cosmic. If you're into all things synthy then I suspect you've heard of Kohn. If not then you should have done as he's been doing solid work for ages now and it's really rather good! 'Random Patterns' is more minimal than previous work as he draws inspiration from the likes of Terry Riley, Steve Reich & Philip Glass (which is very apparent). Shifting rhythms which sound repetitive but aren't as they change constantly... it's fascinating to listen to. The 20 minute opener 'Armon Dates Ptrn' is brilliant.... I've just had the quickest 20 minutes of my life listening to that! I got into some kind of strange trance listening to the melodies and patterns. The random patterns don't sound random but they are improvised which I find kind of amazing. This is super strong anyway and I heartily recommend!
