Factory Star / Granite Shore - Lucybel/When Sleep Wont Come

Christmas is almost upon us and its time to follow the Star...Factory Star was formed in December 2008 by Martin Bramah, founder member of both The Fall and Blue Orchids with whom he recorded the astonishing The Greatest Hit (Money Mountain) LP for Rough Trade. At Easter 2011 Occultation released the debut album, Enter Castle Perilous, a raw, urgent record, red in tooth and claw. That one whirlwind three-day session yielded not just a full ten-track album but also an additional song, the seasonal Lucybel, and, as the nights get shorter, its time draws nigh. The a side sees Occultation label-mates The Granite Shore, led by Factory Stars producer Nick Halliwell, recording one of the stand-out tracks from Enter Castle Perilous, Bramahs „When Sleep Wont Come. This is the first new Granite Shore recording since 2010s acclaimed Flood Of Fortune single, although an album is due in 2012. As Halliwell puts it: “the test of a truly great song is whether you can take it from its original habitat and make it your own without it losing its essence. “When Sleep Wont Come” is a truly great song.”
