A-Sun Amissa - Beneath The Heavy Tides

Beneath The Heavy Tides by A-Sun Amissa

4...according to our on Wed 02 Nov, 2011.

This is essentially a couple of folks from post rock band Glissando and a chap called Owen. Well when I say post rock I mean the sort of post rock that doesn't rock. The weird drifty drone stuff which is somehow lumped into that category but it isn't (bands like Set Fire To Flames etc). Anyway this is one of those cutesy Hibernate postcard series things which are limited to 100. The sound is drawn from the likes of Stars Of The Lid, Godspeed, Set Fire To Flames and folks like that. It's dark, moody, atmospheric and claustrophobic whilst occasionally being beautiful but often foreboding. Definitely foreboding... you just don't know what's around the corner but there's always a sense that something is lurking...

Part of Hibernate's highly acclaimed postcard series.

A-Sun Amissa is a recently formed trio comprising of Richard Knox (Glissando / The Rustle of the Stars / Of Thread & Mist), Angela Chan (Glissando, Ten, Tomorrow We Sail) & Owen Pegg.
