Dirgey stoner rock from these beardy( probably) Bristolians, who peddle a thick, unrelenting sound. This is their fifth record, and its very much a storming beast. It kicks off in rather intimidating fashion with searing, hellish noise...then the guitar sludges in and you're away. It has a rough and ready sound that will delight many a bong rocker and lends an almost apocalyptic air to the proceedings. Some of the cuts have really strong riffs and sonics and other tracks use a very scary sounding sonic template (swirlling noise...jagged atmospherics and then BOOOMMM!!!!) my favourite (and when I say favourite I mean the songs that didn't make me nearly wee myself with FEAR) songs are the epic 'False Start' which has a kinship with The Heads or mebbe Part Chimp and the downright terrifying 'Relentless' which is sonic absolution at its most harrowing. A frightening aural assault that will delight fans of SUNNNN O))) and mebbe Melvins or Harvey Milk...
Originally released on cassette via us in 2010, ltd to 50, sold out in 24 hours. Now on sweet vinyl. Different art now featuring an exploding man.
These 8 tunes make up HC's 6th album. Dominant Male sparks one right up. Beaches and Canyons era Black Dice, back when they were good.
More clanging 70's Germany. A sprinkling of all era's Earth. There's sexy moments tucked away, where the electronics sprinkle.
Some booming drums doing it all tribal. Buried and grubby vox. Why not. There's 6 people on this HC release. It's a flag waving cacophony.
