Bass Clef - Inner Space Break Free

Inner Space Break Free by Bass Clef

Bass Clef: “This is my brand new album, and I would like you to hear it.

My first two albums - “a smile is a curve that straightens most things” and “may the bridges I burn light the way” got some nice reactions and words written about them, and they led to me being lucky enough to tour a lot throughout the UK, Europe and beyond. I've met a bunch of amazing music-loving people, people who work with and in and around music, and people who just go out to dance their legs down to the knees. Music is the most wonderful thing in the world to me.

This is my third album, recorded in a white-hot two week blitz of marathon sessions. It is made as an 'open loveletter' to underground dance music culture. To the tunes, DJ's, soundsystems, noisy neighbours and pirate stations that have inspired me and repeatedly turned my head inside out over the last two decades.

I always hated punks who would go on about how nothing would ever come close to being there and all that, and I certainly don't agree with that view when it comes to rave, or jungle, or even dubstep. I just wanted to pay tribute to the times when I was less cynical and lived it up on the dancefloor without worrying about anything apart from “what the hell is going to come out of the speakers next...”

The album comes on a white cassette, with chrome tape and a hand printed letter press sleeve.

Comes with a free download code too, for those who don't still have walkmans :)

My first cassette release! A little private joy and some sense of a circle closing. All my music is made at home on 4 track cassettes, so this just kind of felt right”.

From the sleevenotes: “dedicated to all the haunted ravers - going out to all the journeyhome headphoned - (memory vagues and whirpools / you can't remember and you can't forget) - all massive and crew inside the place - come and escape to inner space”.
